Create Impact

Recently I was asked to share my story or manifesto telling a little bit about who I am. Have you ever tried to boil down your experience into a few short slides? It’s challenging. Some of these are self-explanatory and others may require more detail but you get the idea. More on a personal note in Legacy or Leftovers.

Yea, It’s Worth It

Father’s Day is just a week away and we are cleaning out the garage and getting ready for an incredible weekend. I’m already geekin’ to see the cars and bikes lined up in the parking out and excited for the dude that takes home “Best of Show” this year. FatherPalooza is going to be awesome. At the same time we kick-off a brand new series “Under The Hood” an inside look at a life of spiritual discipline.

I’ll upload the high resolution artwork for your use. I just need a couple of days to play catch up! Shoot me a link to what’s going on in your neck of the woods. Later!

Instagram Passion. Facebook Pop.

Image

Several year’s ago I read a blog about “Avoiding the Passion Pop Gulf” from Seth Godin and it recently jumped out again with reports of Instagram users leaving the platform since the pop culture giant bought them.

Of course things will change, hopefully for the better, but the reason a small percentage of users will leave Instagram has more to do with what Seth was pointing towards with the “Passion vs Pop” culture differences.

The question I have is this What percentage of Instagram users fall in the passion crowd and what percentage mix with Facebooks Pop crowd? Post.

Grace Fellowship Church LIVE

Grace Fellowship Church Paradise, Texas - Live Streaming Services Online

It is crank week at Grace Fellowship Church as we get ready to launch the all new Live streaming of the services! Check it out September 19 at 9:30 & 11:00am. We tested behind the scenes this weekend and the quality looks good so far. The second DSL line is scheduled to be installed this week in order to help with load balance and maximizing bandwidth. We plan on using a simple custom css/php template to run it with chat, live prayer, social media integration and more. The best thing is letting friends, family and new viewers see what Grace Fellowship is all about. It’s a great way to check out the church and see if it is worth visiting but also a great tool for getting the message out across the states and globally.  Stay tuned!

Also, our temporary page and recent announcement seems to be drawing attention from many sides. Love seeing the different perspectives in the area.

Innovation & Tech Front Page Feature @HoustonChron

Wow, great article posted front page on the Sunday, October 11 Houston Chronicle Newspaper. “Praise for Technology: Tweeting during church services receives blessings from pastors.” Really excited that Pastor Kerry jumped in and is experimenting with new technologies and connecting with the congregation. I am still amazed and how church is viewed and how this sort of thing might create controversy in the public. Apple’s WWDC 2009 “Developer Conference”

“Preview is now up to 2X faster, better text selection in PDF (using a “little bit of AI”). Better Chinese text input, just like on the iPhone — uses the trackpad to draw characters.”

“Apple has come from a different place — they love Leopard and wanted to build upon it. They set a challenge for themselves to build a better Leopard — lots of refinement, powerful new technologies, and Exchange support.”

“Microsoft is trying to get out of the hole they’re in with Windows 7. However, they have the same set of problems as before; registry, DLLs, defragmentation, etc. Windows 7 introduces even more complexity.”

Ready to Unconference at Podcamp?

What is a PodCamp?

A PodCamp is a usually free BarCamp-style community UnConference for new media enthusiasts and professionals including bloggers, podcasters, YouTubers, social networkers, and anyone curious about new media. The first PodCamp was held September 8-10, 2006 in Boston, Massachusetts. PodCamps are now being held worldwide.

PodCamp isn’t just about podcasting! If you’re interested in blogging, social media, social networking, podcasting, video on the net, if you’re a podsafe musician (or want to be), or just someone curious about new media, then please join us — and bring a friend or colleague.

Check out a PodCamp nearest you. We may have to travel to Austin, TX to see if this social media, new technology, unconference is worth the time.
